Hi everyone I’m amir Hajian here with your petroleum.tv

you might hear about the Iranian oil tanker which had been seized by Britain, well I’m here to tell you what happened.

Two weeks ago a giant oil tanker seized by British navies in the overseas territory of Gibraltar which is part of Spain by the way,

but the local government reported that this tanker belongs to Iran and the destination was Syria.

“this country is under the EU oil embargo, and this is a violation by Iran”, Gibraltar’s chief minister said.

as you know, this tanker has the flag of Panama and carrying 2 million barrels of Iranian crude oil.

Meanwhile, Josep Borrell, foreign minister of Spain said:” This was a request made by the united states to the united kingdom. this seizure happened inside of Spain’s water borders”.

you should be aware that the European Union has defined Gibraltar as a colony of the United Kingdom.

Iranian officials have warned the UK against holding an oil tanker “hostage,” describing it as an “illegal seizure”.

meantime, the foreign ministry described the UK move as “unacceptable” in a statement.

The UK ambassador in Tehran had been summoned to a meeting to hear a formal protest as the ministry “called for the immediate release of the oil tanker, given that it has been seized at the request of the US, based on the information currently available,” the statement added.

Well, after that White House national security adviser John Bolton had applauded the UK move: “Excellent news: UK has detained the supertanker Grace I laden with Iranian oil bound for Syria in violation of EU sanctions”.

MR.Zarif: “further added that London’s allegations about the tanker breaching EU bans on Syria were irrelevant since “Iran is neither a member of the EU nor subject to any European oil embargo”.

Minister of defense of Iran, amir hatami warned that the measure would set “a dangerous precedent and must end now.”

after all of these tensions,

“That refinery is the property of an entity that is subject to European Union sanctions against Syria,” said Gibraltar’s chief minister, Fabian Picardo. The refinery is a Syrian government-owned facility controlled by Syrian President Bashar Assad and falls under the EU’s Syrian Sanctions.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi: “Despite what the government of England is claiming, the target and destination of this tanker weren’t Syria”.

“The port that they’ve named in Syria essentially doesn’t have the capacity for such a supertanker. The target was somewhere else”.

then, Russia has condemned Britain for its seizure of an Iran-operated supertanker off the coast of Gibraltar.

Also, you should have noticed that the UK is trying to get out of the EU,

I mean the Brexit issue.

After all, A top court in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar has ruled that an Iranian supertanker illegally seized in the Strait of Gibraltar can be detained for up to 14 more days.

The crew of the tanker was being interviewed as witnesses, the spokesman said, in order to establish the nature of the cargo and its ultimate destination. Most of the crew were Indian and Pakistani nationals. Police and customs officials have remained on board.

Gibraltar detains 2 more officers from seized Iranian tanker. Quoted by Bloomberg.

This is a dangerous game and has consequences,” Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani warned.

2 days after that, The U.K. claimed that Iran Tried To Intercept there Tanker In Strait Of Hormuz.

Iran’s IRGC has dismissed a claim by UK and US officials that its naval forces tried to stop a British tanker in the Persian Gulf.

The UK is sending a second warship to the Persian Gulf in response to the “critical” security threat to commercial shipping from Iran.

the day after that, Royal Gibraltar Police have announced that the arrested crew members of the tanker, which carried Iranian crude oil, have been released.

and today, MR. Javad Zarif has called on Britain to accelerate efforts meant to release the oil tanker held in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar.

the UK foreign minister said:” releasing is in progress but  first we have to make sure that is tanker never head to syria.

Zarif repeated that the target wasn’t Syria.
